It's the first day of screenwriting class and I am nervous as hell because it is one of those classes I've been really looking forward to through all my bachelor's.

My turn to play Miss Universe comes:

"My name is Astrid Cruz, I'm from Caguas, and I'm an Audiovisual Communications major." No, no world peace, yet.

"Welcome, Astrid. Do you like to write?"

My hands start to shake. "Yes, very much."

"Oh. And since when have you been writing?"

I wish I was dying so I could see the movie of my life and be able to accurately point the exact time and date. However, I'm not dying, not even close to.

"Since forever."

The professor, a person I respect very much and that still, to this day, remembers my name, raises his eyebrows and smiles.

"That is great to know. I will be looking forward to reading from you." I can tell he knows I'm not bullshitting him.

Stupid me is in cloud nine right now, so don't ask me the names of my classmates or where they are from.

It was the first time I accepted the fact that I had been writing since a very young age. No writing classes, no mentor, just little old me with a pen, a notebook, and a computer.

Stories, poems, scripts, novels, trash bin fillers... I like to think life has given me the chance to live many lives at a time, through many people, without leaving the comfort of my home. Or being called a schizophrenic.

****

That was some years ago, even when it feels like ages, and many people have come into my life, read what I write and said 'I like it. You should write more.' After scrutinizig their beaming faces and realizing they were real, I've decided to let the world read my stuff.

Now I feel you know too much. If I keep writing I'll have to kill you. So, go on, you are free to read everything and tell me what you think:
